Drowning under the weight of a floundering marriage, the responsibility of raising 6 children, a dying business and mountains of debt, we became desperate to find answers. Traditional education having failed to help us solve our "real life" problems, we turned to mentors and classics. This means that true principles or natural laws govern our lives and like Cecil B. DeMille said, "It is impossible for us to break the law. We can only break ourselves against the law." Who were the Ten Booms? |
The Ten Boom family harbored Jews in their home during the WWII occupation of Holland. While everyone around had the opportunity to save lives, few did. What made the Ten Boom family so different? Why were they willing to risk their lives for strangers? Avid disciples of lifelong learning, the Ten Booms exemplify all that this institute strives to teach. Theirs was not an easy road; they had to overcome tremendous trials, just as we all do. But their path utilized God, classics and truth to the utmost, making theirs a life full of joy. It can truly be said of them that though they were simple and poor, they have genuinely changed the world! |
