Am I Qualified?
Of course you are!
We know you are qualified because this is what it takes to be a good Discussion Group Leader:
1) Commitment- You need to decide that you are going to do the course, no matter what. Then tell this to the people around you and ask them to come along for the ride.
2) Ability to read at a high school level- You are doing that right now.
3) Teachable- You must be able to learn a few new study skills like writing down your thoughts as you read, thinking of good discussion questions and looking for principles. This takes a little practice but we've never met anyone who couldn't learn these.
4) Be an amateur, not an expert- We find that the more someone knows on a particular subject, the more difficult it is for them to keep their mouths closed. You will be leading a discussion, not lecturing on your master's thesis. It's not a bad thing to have some background in government and economics but since your job is to create quality discussion, all you need to do is ask good questions (and we teach you how to do that). The group will take care of the rest.
5) Access to the internet- You are reading this on the internet.
6) Honesty- You need to put in your best effort and share with your group what you are doing. You also have to admit that there are things you don't know and you want to find them out.
7) Desire for self-improvement- This is a deal-killer. You have to want to grow and learn in order to lead a group discussion. This desire will help you look for truth and want to apply principles to your life. It will make your discussions inspiring and empowering for you and everyone else.
8) Ability to follow instructions- Because it is unlikely that you have much experience with the Lost Educational Principles or group discussion, we have written articles, created a Video Training and designed a Leader's Manual to show you exactly what you need to do at each class. All you have to do is follow the instructions. It is NOT difficult, but it does require you to keep being honest and admit that you haven't done this before and you need help in order to be successful. Anyone can do that. Or can they? You be the judge.
This is why we know that you will be a fantastic Discussion Group Leader because everyone can- if they will decide to follow these 8 points.
And since that is simply a choice, you can choose to hold quality group discussions.
